Polly Morgan, Still Birth, 2010.
A cool thing about Polly Morgan:

All taxidermist animals are either road casualties or have been donated to the artist by pet owners and vets after natural or unpreventable deaths.

Morgan’s work gives the viewer a chance to see animals as individuals, as beautiful and still.  Her pieces investigate our own perception of animals and occasionally, our consumption of them (as images, as food).  As a vegetarian and a animal-lover since childhood, the subject matter and drama of Morgan’s pieces attracts me.  Morgan, like many artists that use taxidermy, creates pieces that are at the same time macabre and beautiful.  The tension between death (the ugly) and life (the beautiful) makes Morgan’s work difficult art instead of unique taxidermy.
